Random ramblings and sometimes reviews about things I like such as toys, tech, beauty stuff

What are you passionate about?

I’ve had a lot of time to think about this lately, not really by choice but rather due to circumstances I cannot control.

It has been a great deal of discovery to ask myself this question. Now, I’m aware career may not be the passion point for everyone, but it is for me.

My Quest for a BB Cream

There have been these commercials on television heavily advertising a product from Garnier called a BB CREAM. They claim they are Canada’s first BB cream. What is a BB Cream you may ask?

Well, the BB stands for Blemish Balm. It’s sort of like a tinted moisturizer which will help your face get light coverage while supplying it with hydrating properties, keeping you fully moisturized while improving the texture and firmness of your skin.

Why “Disconnecting” Does Not Work For Me

Time and time again, I’ve come across people who claim how limiting their use of technology, checking less email, spending less time on the Internet, texting, tweeting and Facebooking has increased the quality of their life and productivity.

Disconnecting has elevated them to a new level of zen. It has made them BETTER than the rest of us Crackberry-addicted netizens, often seen tapping and scrolling furiously on our Smartphones, bumping into one another like zombies.

But those who have had the “luxury” of disconnecting should open up their eyes and realize it does not work for every one, and I will use myself as an example.

The Spread of Negativity

The one thing I hate more than anything is being around negative people.

Why? Because it’s contagious.

I’ve been having a conversation with a friend of mine, who admitted it was a constant negativity from his significant other which caused the downfall of his relationship. Where it got to a point he just couldn’t stand anymore, to be suffocated by someone who was such a downer in every sense of existence.

What Happened To “Don’t Talk To Strangers?”

I understand I am a product of the digital age — facebook and twitter obsessed, wanting to share every single detail of my life with anybody willing to give me the time of day, but what I’ve also realized, in one of my many rants about social media, is that online social tools such as twitter (unless it’s locked) has made us forget about the first thing we ever learned as children.

Less living and more “apping”

I know we live in this overly tech-savvy city, where if you own anything less than an iPhone or an Android phone, you’re opening yourself up to public scrutiny. Even a Blackberry is deemed ‘old school”.

I’ve increasingly become annoyed with all these gadgets and gizmos, devices that are supposedly keeping us connected and current, as well, give us attention deficit disorder and less awareness to things like oncoming traffic. But it feels as if the more we connect to our devices and machines, the less we seem to be connected to real life.

What Happened in 2010

Following in example via Will Lam, who filled out his year end recap in the same fashion as his friend, I decided to do the same. I’ve only updated my tumblr blog once this year, when I first moved out, thinking I would be learning a lot about life on my own in my own place. WRONG.

So 2010 went something like this.

Growing Up Is Hard To Do

I’ve moved out of my parents house for almost 4 months now, and I figured this would be a good time to really reflect on the changes I’ve gone through in that time. Specifically, the growing pains I’ve endured having to live on my own, having to pay my own bills, having to clean up and take care of my condo, all the while juggling work, finances, friends, family and a new relationship.
